City Council Releases Redistricting Plans, Approves New Precincts and Polling Places

At their March 22, 2022 business meeting, the New Brighton City Council passed a resolution establishing new precinct boundaries and polling places. The City was required to change the boundary lines of our election precincts because the State Senate and House District boundary lines in our city changed.

Minnesota's NEW Congressional, Senate and House District maps and detailed information about the City's redistricting process can be found on our Redistricting Information page.

Next Steps in the Process

Over the next couple of months, City staff will be working with Ramsey County Elections and the MN Secretary of State's office to get these changes entered into the Statewide Voter Registration System. We will also be working to communicate these changes to residents in our city. Please help us spread the word.

Let your friends and neighbors know precinct and polling place changes were made. Consider sharing upcoming City's social media posts about our new precincts and polling places on your personal social media page. As Election Day approaches, please remind your friends and neighbors to visit the MN Secretary of State's poll finder to confirm their new polling place. (Note: This tool will not include new precinct and polling place information until AFTER May 30, 2022.)

Encourage friends and neighbors who are qualified to vote to register to vote. Eligibility information and an on-line registration portal can be found here.

If you are interested in helping with voting activities at our polls, in learning more about the election process, and want to partner with us to ensure our elections are run with accuracy and integrity in accordance with state laws, please consider applying to serve as an Election Judge. Applications and information will be available by mid-April. State law requires employers to excuse employees to serve without penalty provided notice and other guidelines are followed.
