Celebrate Black History Month in New Brighton

The month of February is Black History Month. According to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, this month has been recognized by every sitting president since 1976. However, we can trace its origin back to 1915. You can see information about the creation of Black History Month by visiting ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History - https://asalh.org/about-us/about-black-history-month/) To celebrate, the City of New Brighton’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Team has created posters highlighting 12 trailblazers in the black community. The posters are placed in parks and other city buildings throughout New Brighton. Check out this map to find all 12: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1XxQt9Y5tXyDyT6_NS8hprybLEhhU_DKk&usp=sharing
