Under normal conditions:
You can request and pay for expedited service if you're:
- Traveling in 24-48 hours. This is only in an emergency such as a serious illness, injury, or death in your immediate family.
- Traveling within 2-3 weeks. You must have proof of immediate international travel (for example, purchased airline or cruise tickets).
Once you've contacted NPIC and are unable to schedule an appointment with the Minneapolis Passport Agency the next quickest way is to schedule an appointment to come into our office and complete your request by Express Mail which will overnight your application to the state via USPS, pay $60 to Expedite your application when it gets to the state, and then requesting an Return Delivery Expedite back to you when your passport book is created. This process will allow for the quickest turnaround on the front end getting your application there, when it is received your application will jump to the front of the line, and when created will ensure delivery to you the quickest. However, please be aware there will be additional fees for each step.
