New Brighton has Raised the Tobacco Sales Age to 21

On June 11, 2019, the New Brighton City Council voted to raise the tobacco sales age to 21. The ordinance became effective June 26, 2019, which means that from now on, the tobacco sales age in New Brighton is 21 for all tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, blunt wraps, e-cigarettes, e-juice, smokeless tobacco products, shisha and tobacco-related products.

You must be licensed as a tobacco vendor in order to sell tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes. If you sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21, or otherwise violate the tobacco licensing ordinance, you will be fined a state minimum of $75 for the first violation, $200 for the second violation within 24 months and $250 plus a minimum seven-day suspension of your license for a third violation.
