Checklist for Commercial Building Permits

Purpose: To establish submission requirements at the time of permit application to enable accurate, timely review.

Instructions: All new residential building permits requiring plan review must have the following form included with each section completed. The Building Department can be reached at 651-638-2050 from 8:00-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

*1. Has a SAC determination been submitted to Metropolitan Council?

Yes

*2. Has a state plumbing review been completed (if applicable)?

Yes

If any of the below items are a “Yes” a Planning/Zoning review must be done before an application is submitted.

If a planning/zoning review has been completed, please continue.

*3. Will the proposed project change the use on the site, and/or will there be a new use added to the site?

Yes

*4. Does the project include building a new structure or expanding an existing structure?

Yes

*5. Will there be completion of any grading on the property or a surface change of the lot in any way (i.e. expanding pavement of the parking lot, changing surface materials from gravel to asphalt, adding sidewalks & trails, etc.)?

Yes

*6. Will there be any new equipment added to the site such as new rooftop equipment, above or below ground fuel tanks, generators, etc.?
