If you are a driver over 21 years of age, with a current valid permit or license, you not longer need to pass a knowledge exam before you can convert your license to Minnesota. If you are under 21, or your permit or license is expired, you will need to pass a Class D Knowledge Exam, even if you have previously had a driver’s license in Minnesota.
We are now able to offer this Class D Knowledge Exam! Please click HERE for information about this service.
If you are coming from out of the country (except Canada), you will need to take a knowledge exam, carry a driving permit for three months, and then pass a skills exam.
If you have an out of state ID only, no exam is required. Bring the required documents to our office and we can assist you.
