Fire Permits
This page will walk you through how to pull different types of fire permits. Please pay attention to the requirements for each type of permit.

Please select the type of fire permit application you need and follow the corresponding instructions:
For projects with a valuation of $2,000 or less, reviews are not required. Please follow these steps:
- Please create a contractor account - visit this guide if you have any questions. If you already have an account, skip this step.
- Once your account is set up, log in
- Select "Fire" as your permit type
- Fill out the application and submit any plans electronically
- Once the application is processed you will get a link for payment. Once payment is made the permit will auto-issue
For projects with a valuation of $2,001 or more, reviews are required. The City will need both an electronic application/plan submittal, and a separate set of physical plans to be emailed to our Public Safety building.

- Once your account is set up, log in
- Select "Fire - Review" as your permit type
- Fill out the application and submit any plans electronically
- Once the online application is processed you will get a link for payment with the total
- The next step is to mail a copy of your plans. Please print and fill out the Review Checklist (PDF) and send it with mailed plans.
- If you are paying with a card, please mail the receipt with your plans, or if you are paying with a check, mail that with your plans
- Please mail 1 copy of your plans, either the credit card receipt or a check, and the Review Checklist (PDF) to:

New Brighton, MN 55112 - Once your plans have been received you will get an email confirmation. Once they have been reviewed, you will get an emailed copy.
If the tent or canopy is 120 square feet or over, a permit is required.

- Fill out the application and include the below information in the description:
- Does the tent have sides?
- Will there be cooking?
- How is it secured to the ground?
- Upload a site plan with the application and submit
- Once the application is processed you will get a link for payment, once payment is made, the Fire Marshal will review your plans
- Once they have been reviewed, the permit will be issued with any comments

- Fill out and submit the Fireworks Sales form (PDF) with the required documents
- Upload a site plan with the application and submit
- Once the application is processed you will get a link for payment, once payment is made, the Fire Marshal will review your plans
- Once they have been reviewed, the permit will be issued with any comments
