Election Judge Training Resources
Note: All training is paid. Please keep track of all training sessions you attend and record them on the timecard you submit on Election Day.
For New Election Judges & Student Election Judges
All Election Judges are required by State Law to become certified or re-certified every two years. Certification training covers specific topics and takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
Complete election judge certification requirements by watching the recording of our Zoom Training that took place earlier this year. VIDEO
When you have finished, please email us and let us know one thing that surprised you. If you would like clarification about anything you learned, this is a good time to ask.
It is also a good idea to review the 2022 Election Judge Training Guide produced by the MN Secretary of State. If you prefer a paper copy, please stop by New Brighton City Hall and pick one up.
Remember to return the payroll forms that were emailed to you. They can be returned to:
New Brighton City Hall; Attention Elections; 803 Old Hwy 8 NW; New Brighton MN 55112
For Certified Election Judges who want a review
Election Judges who worked at the August Primary Election and completed their training requirements earlier this year can prepare for Election Day by:
- Reviewing the 2022 Election Judge Training Guide produced by the MN Secretary of State. If you are an election judge and prefer a paper copy, please stop by New Brighton City Hall and pick one up.
- View short, topical training videos produced by Ramsey County Elections. Please note that some details - such as the color of folders, tubs and bins - may be different in the New Brighton polling place you are working in.
For Election Judges serving as Registration Specialists
Registration Specialists need extra training in voter registration matters.
