If you visit City Hall in New Brighton the next couple of months, you can expect to see construction work because of the expansion of the License Bureau. Here’s what’s going on:
- The License Bureau will move to the lower level of City Hall. When the new location is ready, visitors will be directed with updated signage to park in the lower level parking lot. While the construction takes place, the License Bureau will operate as normal at the current location and with regular hours. You can look for updates on the website to see when the new License Bureau will open. It is anticipated to be operational by November 1st of 2017. You can read more about the new services it will offer, such as driver’s license renewals, here.
- The lower level conference room and the City staff break room will be relocated to the upper level of City Hall. The relocation won’t happen until early 2018 in order to allow the License Bureau to operate normally during the construction. The City Council worksessions, which are usually held in the lower level conference room, will be moved to the Council Chambers or the upper level conference room during this time.
