Have you heard of radon? It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas that is naturally occurring in many soil types and can seep into any home regardless of foundation type. If you would like to test your home for radon, there are free test kits available at New Brighton City Hall, and if your home has tested positive, free mitigation is being offered to up to 10 low income homeowners. This program is being funded by A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation and the Minnesota Department of Health.
